Dear Diary . . .
I love CLEAN laundry. I really don't mind washing it, or folding it, it's just the putting away part, and the taking it to the laundromat, because I don't have a washer anymore. Even when I have a washer, it's either down a flight of stairs in the basement, or down the stairs and out the back to the laundry room. When Josh isn't otherwise occupied, he's happy to take it out for me, and cart it back up the stairs, so that isn't so bad.
I used to get so pissed off at BrightOpal's old man, because she would work 60 hours a week, then come home to do laundry, and the SOB couldn't get off his lazy ass to help. Once, with LazyAss sitting right there, I asked Josh to help Lei down the stairs. He finally got the message, and he took it down...once or twice.
As for the Flying Lessons, they are going great! So far, I have managed to keep my sink clean since Wednesday, and two of my counter tops are cleaned off, and have stayed clean! My bathroom is clean except for the tub, and I have to wait on that because it is backed up and I need to get a plumber in.
My (front) bedroom is clean except for two small 'hotspots' and I could have it immaculate within 15 minutes. All of my clean clothes are put away, it's just books and papers left out on the dresser and the little table thingy at the foot of my bed. That, and vacuuming and dusting, and that room is DONE!
The living room has been in a decent condition since Poolie and Beanie's visit, not perfect, but I could make it perfect in a short time. The dining room is the next sore spot. I figure that I can take care of the bedroom, and start picking at the dining room today, and by Tuesday, it should be in excellent order.
As of today, according to the plan, I am supposed to get up, take my shower, put on my clothes that I laid out the night before, do my hair and makeup, and put on my shoes. That, along with keeping my sink clean, and reading my reminders, is the sum total of what I am supposed to do.
Since so little is asked, I find that I chafe at NOT doing more, rather than whining about how much is expected of me! So I really feel as if I am getting back into a good, strong routine which will help me keep my life in better order.
The only problem I've had with anything is the vitamins I've been taking. The first day I took them, one of them made some nerves in my thigh start twinging. I haven't figured out which one it is, but it keeps me up sometimes at night. Also, when I take them, I get about 16 hours of increased energy, which is a good thing, except that it makes it hard to get to sleep.
It finally culminated in my being awake until 10am yesterday morning! I got about 3 hours of nap, and then I was able to get to sleep by midnight. I hadn't taken any pills yesterday, so my body was tired and ready for a good rest.
This morning, I was awake at 9am, and up, dressed, fed and ready for the day by 10am, which is a minor miracle. I feel happier and I'm not beating myself up over what I HAVEN'T done, I'm patting myself on the back for my successes.
Another thing I realized is that no one can de-clutter this house for me, except me. Once it is de-cluttered, anyone can clean it, and I may have someone come in once a week once I get myself back in a job. I am looking forward to having everything sorted, and I will have a few yard sales to get everything GONE!
Last but not least, my foray into the Sims website was short-lived. I finally realized that I am able to get my singing out there on YouTube, so why do I need another site? The Sims is a good site for someone who doesn't have access to karaoke songs, and who doesn't really care what it sounds like in the end.
But I do already have my songs, I have a small karaoke setup, I have a camera, and I can post them to You Tube whenever I like, so why bother with anything else? I was agonizing over finding a microphone that would work on the computer, and they run about $50 for a good computer one, but, ummm, why spend money I don't have?
So that little 30 hours of temporary madness is over. Thanks for putting up with it Art!
Time to get going for the day! Have a great Sunday!
