Dear Diary . . .
So...the weekend went by in a flash, I could have sworn that I did more entries, but then again, maybe I didn't.
But on to the main point of this post, the Scavenger Hunt! OK, first things first, I forgot my camera on Saturday, so even though the Rat Queen brought hers, I didn't take any pics with it, and since she was getting a late start on the Hunt, she decided to not do it.
So here is my list with the associated pictures and stories.
1. Surprised wild animal
OK, this one was hard in San Diego. But I managed to find a wild animal who had been very, very surprised at one time...
2. Red plant
Seriously, I took about 30 pictures of red plants and red flowers, but I had to narrow it down to one, so I chose this lovely specimen from the botanical gardens...
3. Pirate flag
Yeah, I could have taken any number of pirate flag pictures, but I particularly like this one...and if you knew where it was applied, you'd laugh your ass off!
4. Something fluffy
There is nothing fluffier than a little kitten, and this is my darling Meg's new little kitten, Calliope.
5. Unusually coloured food
This is a pepper that was located in an area filled with lovely little red peppers. However, this pepper had the color of, well, poo. SO I'd say that was a wee bit unusual.
6. Person waving
OK, I think this was the picture that really got the competitive juices flowing, so to speak. This was taken at Old Town, and the girls were further along than I was, and I happened to catch the mariachi guy as he rushed to work. He obligingly waved for me, which I though was very kind given his hurry.
7. Three fruit together
OK, I really, really was holding out for getting up to Hillcrest and finding three obliging gay men to do this picture, but I never made it up there, so this will have to suffice. I call it "Fruits of the Harvest", and the darling lady was part of the management team at the sandwich place we went to on Thursday. It's pushing it, I know, but Beanie used the other idea to put a banana with a couple of other fruit, so I'm kinda stuck.

8. Something on fire
There were just some things that I went a bit overboard on, and trying to get a photo of fire was one of them. I tried to get a photo of the flames in the foreground, with the hunters in the background, but it just didn't come out right. I wanted to get the whole "Immolated Hunters" look going, and I failed miserably. Sorry.
9. Clown trousers
For whatever reason, I did not get one, single, solitary photo of Heinous the whole weekend. Believe me, I don't know how that happened. I could have SWORN I took Heinous' picture, but my camera tells me otherwise. So here's the next best thing, our own Captain Poolie in her Pie-Rat pants, which IMHO, look suspiciously like clown pants.
10. A bagel
There is simply no excuse for not having a bagel photo, especially since Beanie provided amply opportunity for bagel shots on Thursday morning, but somehow I missed the golden opportunity, and I refuse to cheat by digging up a pic from the net.
OK, this is enough for one entry, if you knew how long it has taken me to just upload the freaking pictures, you'd be amazed that I've gotten this far. But I really need to get to bed, I'll post the rest tomorrow, OK?
